I'm expecting the first season DVD set any day now, and in anticipation I did some research. Of the 34 episodes in season 1 of 'The Phil Silvers Show' aka 'You'll Never Get Rich', 6 weren't renewed with 2 more possibly PD because of incorrect titles. I don't know when I'll be able to upload them, so if anyone else can, please do.

New Recruits
The Empty Store
The WAC
The Horse
AWOL
The Boxer
The Hoodlum
Mardi Gras
The Eating Contest
The Centennial (NOT RENEWED)
Bivouac (NOT RENEWED)
The Singing Contest (NOT RENEWED)
The Twitch
The Reunion
Rich Kid (NOT RENEWED)
Hollywood
The Investigation (RENEWED as The Big investigation)
Kids in the Trailer (NOT RENEWED)
The Revolutionary War
The Transfer
The Rest Cure
Dinner at Sowici's
Army Memoirs
Miss America
The Court Martial
Furlough in New York
The Big Uranium Strike
Bilko and the Beast
The Physical Checkup
The Recruiting Sergeant
Hair (NOT RENEWED)
The Con Men
War Games
Bilko on Wall Street (RENEWED as Bilko in Wall Street)

i have just bought what is said by the seller to be the complete 143 episode set of sergent bilko/the phil silvers show (14 discs) obviously bootleg but it's stated as all being "PD" is this correct? this is here in the united kingdom so not sure how pd differs, if at all, i searched "classic tv" and found no episodes of this great show, remember it with fondness way back when!!

Episodes for which the original copyright wasn't renewed, or which don't show a proper copyright notice (three items must be present: the word "copyright" and/or its symbol ©, a date, and a name) in the episode are PD. I'm sure the 6 episodes from the first season listed as NOT RENEWED are PD in the US. I've posted the renewals from the US Copyright Office for every episode, but I haven't checked further than season 1 for episodes missing renewal registrations. It's tedious, but worthwhile. Hope you get a chance to upload some to IA!

Hi, thanks for the reply, i dont have a clue about copyright or how to check, i would like to upload the whole set if i can find out how to do it, i guess IA will delete any they find are not "PD" (as long as the "copyright" cops dont come knocking on my door)!!

It wouldn't be a good idea to upload every episode. Attached to my original post as The_Phil_Silvers_Show_-_renewals.txt and You___ll_Never_Get_Rich_-_renewals.txt are every episode renewal of The Phil Silvers Show. This page lists all of the episodes with their names. All you have to do is crosscheck episode names on that list for renewals with that episode title (or close to it). If you don't find a renewal, that episode can be uploaded. I've done it for season 1.

If you can't do that, just upload the 6 episodes from season 1 that I marked as NOT RENEWED.

OK my friend, point taken, as soon as they arrive i'll look into haveing a go at uploading the first six, and then spend some time checking the other's, i would like to be able to check thses things out as there are many other episodes of other good series i'd like to look into, copyright here seems to be far more restrictive than the states (i think) a great pity and also a pity the copyright owners cannot set up a web site to allow ya to download for a reasonable cost, it'd be surely cheaper that marketing dvd box sets, still thank god for IA, thanks again, all the best, ian
